Fall Dance Concert: Ellipsis

As Co-Lighting Designer for Missouri State University's Fall Dance Concert: Ellipsis, I was tasked with working with multiple choreographers to ensure that my designs complimented their work. I had never worked on a dance concert before and going into programming I thought that it would be the same process as for a musical or play but my eyes were opened to the delicate and intricate world of dance. 

In addition to never having worked on a dance production before, the venue I was designing for was a blackbox thrust stage so I had to account for the lights bleeding into the audience. In addition, because there were so many different pieces, we ended up rotating out 3 pieces so each dance would premier for one night only. In all, I was so happy to be a last minute addition to this beautiful collection of diverse work, I look forward to hopefully working on more dance works in the future.
