SubUrbia

In addition, I had the unique task of learning how to utilize temporary chalk-based spray paint to create graffiti on the building to add to the weathered down look. I ended up utilizing my family and I's initials to create the majority of the graffiti "tags" which I felt made the designs more authentic. In addition to the initials, I also designed a few small drawings to fill in little spaces in the set.

For Missouri State University's adapted production of Eric Bogosian's SubUrbia, I served in the role of Head Scenic Designer mentored by faculty member Michelle Harvey. I had the unique challenge of disguising a pre-existing building rather than creating one from scratch. For this production I learned how to use my department's industrial plotter printer to create fake advertisements to plaster on the windows of our corner store. As well, I got to name our "Corner Stop" and design and print out a vinyl logo to wrap around the lip of the awning of the buildings entrance.
